Introductions
Clover’s Curfew is all heart—and that heart’s packed with mud stains, safety pins, and whiskey. A folk-punk quartet that’s as at home in a dive bar as on a big shiny stage, they are grounded, accessible, and infectious (so vaccinate your kids). The band began as a meeting of musical minds between Jameson Jenkins (vocals/guitar/harmonica) and Danni Christian (vocals/ukulele/guitar/ harmonica) shortly after they began dating about a year and a half ago. Each has been playing music independently for many years, but sparks really flew when they combined forces on stage. The dynamic the two bring to a stage is simply unmatched. Percussionist William Connolly joined the band roughly a year ago, and most recent addition Charles Buonasera jumped in on upright bass a couple months back (in mid-2019). These two additions allowed the duo-turned-quartet to fill out their sound. The duo explains, “One of our goals is to continue to grow and add members as we see fit to our family.” Each addition has bolstered the project, adding new depth to the insanely catchy songs the founders had been putting together.
Danni and Jameson have very distinct writing processes. Danni writes in waves, and when an idea comes in on the tide, she stops everything to catch it. There’s no telling what will bring a wave on; sometimes a moment of clarity in an emotional storm, sometimes simply the thin air behind the steering wheel. Jameson, on the other hand, stores up fragments of thoughts, imagery, and inspiration, working and reworking them until they fall into place. And occasionally full songs come forward seemingly without thought, having formed unknowingly somewhere in his subconscious. Their personalities and strengths play off of each other perfectly. Even visually, Danni brings an element of theatrics to shows after years of acting and improv while Jameson lends his sense of punk style to the mix (check out his clothing line, Oyfe Streetwear!) The duo has managed through “A LOT of patience and understanding that it’s more than just about their individual selves” to work out a collaborative harmony that best serves the music.
If you are a fan of Frank Turner, Days N Daze, or Flogging Molly, then Clover’s Curfew is sure to be a new favorite!
You can expect their first EP to drop November 9th, 2019!
Tours & Shows
Clover’s Curfew has graced the stages of venues big and small from coast to coast. As Fishman Artists (the musical supply extraordinaires), they have attended the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for the past two years. “We’ve played incredible venues across those states and met some unforgettable folks!” the band divulged. The band has seen so much growth and development already, and they’ve been active for less than two years. Danni and Jameson have become closer and closer, and their music becomes stronger and stronger. We are so looking forward to seeing what the next chapter has in store!
