Introductions
Bunktown Falls brings the soundtrack of sunshine and good times to the stages of Long Island. Their sound is based in reggae with surf-rock and alternative inspirations. They’re perfect for throwing on while you’re napping in your hammock, sitting beach-side, or driving out to Montauk, but nothing quite beats bopping around with your friends and some beers at a BF show.
The four-piece band is comprised of Carl Nowicki (vocals), Santo Puleo (drums/vocals), Alex Mundo (guitar/backing vocals), and Spencer Guttenberg (bass/backing vocals). The creative friendship between Alex and Santo was the spark that ignited the fire that became Bunktown Falls. When life led Santo to officially relocate himself on Long Island, the two finally got the chance to spend some dedicated time creating new music. In time they added Spencer and Carl into the mix, establishing their current lineup and propelling their music career onto bigger and better things.
The band is very collaborative, running with “a set of lyrics in Santo’s notebook, a progression from Spencer, or a surf rock riff from Mundo” until they’ve built a song that all four of them are happy with. Unafraid to use trial and error and live crowd testing to feel out what works and what doesn’t, the band often crafts songs in real-time.
Shows & Tours
“We’re four best friends that love to make music together. Our music is taking us new places all the time, from partying with friends to opening for our heroes,” the band remarks. Like many of their now-fellow LongIslandSound.love alum, Bunktown Falls has adorned LI venues of all sizes with the sounds of summer. They graced the stage at Farmingdale’s STATTfest early this past September, sharing music, laughs, and drinks with fans and friends alike. They’ve also opened for some pretty big-league reggae bands such as Ballyhoo!, Passafire, and Bumpin’ Uglies. You can find them this Saturday (10/19/19) at Stephen Talkhouse in Southampton!
