INTRODUCTIONS

Bad Mary is punk rock mixed with Pop Rocks…okay, and soda. They blend together energetic, edgy music and lyrics heavily splashed with zaniness. The band transports you to a Sci-Fi-infused ‘70s NYC with tracks like “Marz Attaqz” and “Space Girl”. They don’t take themselves too seriously, and Bad Mary embraces the quirk to remind us that the fun parts are make life worth living. Bad Mary is made up of Amanda Mac (Vocals), Mike Staub (Bass/Vocals), Bill Mac (Drums), and David Henderson (Guitar). Amanda, Mike and David met at Hofstra University and began playing as a cover band. David is a professor there and when Mike and Amanda graduated, the trio decided to keep playing together. They went through a few lineup changes and ultimately recruited Amanda’s dad Bill on drums. In 2012 they started writing their own songs, unveiling their own take on punk and reviving the feeling of excitement and energy waiting to be amplified.

Bad Mary’s first album “Better Days”, released in 2013, was “self-produced and basement recorded” according to the band. Their following two EPs, “Killing Dinosaurs” (2015) and “We Could Have Saved the World” (2016) were recorded and mixed by Matt Storm and Francisco Botero at Studio G in Brooklyn and mastered by Fred Kevorkian, who has previously mastered for The White Stripes, Iggy Pop, and Debbie Harry. In 2017 they released their latest EP “Glitter Bomb”, and their much anticipated next album is slated for late 2019.

TOURS & SHOWS

Bad Mary has played classic venues such as Arlene’s Grocery, Bowery Electric, Trash Bar, and Highline Ballroom. In 2015 they showed the masses how Long Island gets down at the Warped Tour at Jones Beach. They’re also familiar faces at the Liberty Music Festival in Philadelphia, playing it in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

INSPIRATION & INFLUENCES

Bad Mary draws influence from the likes of Blondie and The Ramones, Green Day, and No Doubt. They pack quite a punch with their unique soundscape bringing old, new, and (the best kind of) weird sounds together to get their fans dancing and singing along.

Never give up. This business is incredibly tough and while it’s easy to get demoralized, those who find success are those who continue to push forward. We’re always writing, playing, looking for new festivals, and connecting with new fans.

Also, be yourself. Don’t feel the pressure to change to become more mainstream or appeal to different people. You’re always your best when you’re being honest about the art you create.
